20 of the Best Eco-Friendly Products on Amazon

Happy Wednesday, friends!

A fun little topic mix-up for today’s post, one you’ll especially love if you’ve been looking for some good, easy, eco-friendly swaps that don’t break the bank! While I will admit I am far from living the most eco-friendly lifestyle possible, I’m always trying to do better!

Sometimes, the easiest way to do that is by making little swaps here and there around your household, and when those “swappable” products are easy to get and affordable to purchase (hello, Amazon!), it makes it that much easier–and little differences add up!

It’s no secret that many of us love Amazon. We already use it to buy a ton of our household products, but did you know Amazon also has tons of incredible eco products to choose from, too? Making these swaps can be just as easy as your regular shopping habits!

Geeking out over this topic, Kendall and I have gone down an internet rabbit hole in our product research, and rounded up some of the best eco-friendly products you can snag on Amazon to help you lead a greener, healthier lifestyle, and reduce your plastic consumption! (Many of these suggestions have come highly recommended by YOU as well!)

Let’s jump in!

 Best Eco-Friendly Products on Amazon

Home & Kitchen:

Microfiber Cloths:

Microfiber cloths are great for dusting, cleaning, washing the car, etc. Treat them like reusable disposable wipes or paper towels! When they’re dirty, simply toss them in the wash to resuse.

Pretty glass refillable soap dispensers:

Okay so I don’t have these EXACT ones (mine are old) but I LOVE refillable glass soap dispensers. (After scouring Amazon I think these are the cutest, and love the labels!) Not only do they look prettier than plastic ones, but buying your soaps (dish soap and hand soap) in bulk and using refillable containers can help cut down on plastic consumption and waste. I love the amber bottles too, if that’s more your style!

Charcoal Bags:

Instead of plastic and single-use room sprays and purifiers, you can opt for these charcoal purifying bags to get rid of smells. Use them to eliminate odor and humidity wherever you need it around the house, your car, bags, etc.!

Swedish Dish towels:

You know I love these little reusable washcloths for our kitchen! I did a whole blog post dedicated to them right over here! I use them in lieu of paper towels to clean counters and wipe up spills in the kitchen!

A Low-Flow Shower Head:

Genius! Never knew a product like this existed. Cut back on the amount of water you use in the shower with this shower head that is designed with a low flow to save energy and water. It’s only $8, has amazing reviews, plus, you’ll save money on your utility bill! Win, win, win!

Bamboo Tissues + Toilet Paper:

If you’re looking to find an eco-friendly swap for toilet paper (TBH I’m not quite there yet–I’m a real stickler for soft TP–but I know many of you are searching for alternatives–I’m trying to come around 😆) consider this eco-friendly alternative to traditional tree-based bath tissue. Made from fast-growing bamboo and sugarcane, this tissue is 100% biodegradable and septic safe.

Wool Dryer Balls:

In lieu of standard drying sheets and fabric softeners, try using certified organic wool dryer balls! (I love these. They’re also fun to throw at your partner while folding the laundry. 😜) They let you cut down on the chemicals, dryer time (and energy) and reduce garbage waste. If you find yourself missing that fresh laundry scent that you get from dryer sheets, put a few drops of your favorite smelling essential oil on the balls!

100 Percent Natural Stain Remover:

I haven’t ordered this yet, but I have seen SO many people raving about it lately! This stain remover is both effective and natural, helping you safely remove stains. It’s also hypoallergenic, biodegradable, vegan, and certified cruelty-free.

Stasher Bags:

One of my all-time favorite products. Swap these stasher bags for single-use, ziplock plastic bags. They’re non-toxic, come in a bunch of sizes, and are dishwasher AND microwave safe, too! Yes, they’re an investment, but they last forever, and I use them for everything from toiletries when I travel to food storage.

Food Huggers:

Instead of plastic wrap, try these food huggers that keep leftover produce fresher longer. They also have different options for other items, such as butter and cheese.

Marley’s Monsters “Un” Paper Towels:

So many of you love these things! These reusable paper towels are made of 100% cotton flannel and can be rolled up onto a paper towel holder. (Intriguing!) Once dirty, they can be washed and reused again and again!

Hydroflask:

I’ve loved my Hydroflask for years! It’s BPA-free, stainless steel water bottle that helps keep my water cold for up to 24 hours and makes it SO much easier to drink water throughout the day. A reusable water bottle is a great way to cut out plastic water bottles.

Glass Straws:

While we’re talking about water, swap plastic straws for glass or steel straws!

Mesh Produce Bags:

The next time you head to the grocery store, bring these mesh produce bags to wrap produce lieu of their plastic bags. These reusable bags also help your produce stay fresh longer! (Just keep them inside your regular reusable grocery bags!)

Silicone Sponge:

These sponges are easy to clean, quick to dry, and are an eco-friendly swap to disposable sponges and cleaning brushes. Best of all, they’re dishwasher safe!

Indoor Compost Bin:

I’m selfishly happy this post forced me to do some research on finding a cute countertop compost bin. (Because I needed one!) This compost bin is a great size and design for everyday counter-top use. Use it daily before transporting to an outdoor composter or pickup service. Looking for more compost tips? Check out this post.

Skincare & Beauty:

Reusable Cotton Makeup Removing Pads:

I love reusable makeup pads! Swap your single-use makeup remover pads and wipes for this organic cotton alternative. When you’re done using them, toss them in a mesh bag in the laundry to clean!

Period Cup:

Swap tampons and pads for a period cup. (I was very skeptical too, but I have been a convert for years now.) If you’re new to the concept, check out my post comparing the Lena Cup and Diva Cup!

Ethique Shampoo + Conditioner + Soap Bars:

A few GG readers recommended Ethique bars–they’re made with clean ingredients and are free from plastic packaging!

Reusable Metal Razor:

2 billion single-use plastic razors are thrown away each year! Switching to any reusable razor can help, but this rose gold razor is totally plastic-free and the beautiful design really caught my eye. It’s also $19, which doesn’t break the bank!

EcoTools Makeup Brushes:

My favorite makeup brushes! Cruelty-free and made from recycled aluminum and plastic with 20% cotton and 80% bamboo fibers. Plus, they’re amazing quality — I’ve used them for years! Check out my tips and tricks to cleaning makeup brushes!
